Roswell In mid-1947, a United States Air Force balloon crashed at a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico. Following wide initial interest in the crashed flying disc, the US military stated that it was merely a conventional weather balloon. Interest subsequently waned until the late 1970s, when ufologists began promoting a variety of increasingly elaborate conspiracy theories, claiming that one or more alien spacecraft had crash-landed, and that the extraterrestrial occupants had been recovered by the military, who then engaged in a cover-up. In the 1990s, the US military published two reports disclosing the true nature of the crashed object: a nuclear test surveillance balloon from Project Mogul. Nevertheless, the Roswell incident continues to be of interest in popular media, and conspiracy theories surrounding the event persist. Roswell has been described as the world’s most famous, most exhaustively investigated, and most thoroughly debunked UFO claim. Know the difference between Proof (PF) and Mint (MS) or Busines Strikes, The Proof Strike is Superior and made for the Collector. Once a Proof, always a Proof. Also what gives the Proof more value is the grading and minting status: “1st day of strike” , “One of First 1500 Struck”, and any number within that value of coins struck. Those that are signed by “Mercanti” or other designers add to the value. These all weigh into the value of the Proof. They are of more value and made as described below. The Proof Strike (PF) is struck several times on a highly polished planchet giving the fields a mirrored effect and the image a beautiful frosted look. They are from the start of the process, designed for the collector, and given the best strike. The Mint Stike or Business Stike are coins that are minted for the purpose of wide distribution, and no special strike is given to it. Thus you will see MS70, MS69, etc. A PF70 is superior to the MS70 from the start. Ultra Cameo (UC) is a designation that applies only to proof (PF) coins. It is the measure of the contrast between the frosted devices (raised portions of the design) and the mirrored fields (the flatter areas of the coin). The Proof I have for sale is a PF70 Ultra Cameo “One of First 1500 Struck”. These are before the Early Releases which are all those struck within the first month. Thesed do not carry the value of those such as the one I have for sale. Extremely Low Mintage (#719 OFF THE PRESS). These are of a much higher value of those shown as “Early Releases”. Only 1,500 of these (ONE OF FIRST 1500 STRUCK) STRUCK. These are the top of lines and once they are gone, they are gone. Edition: (ONE OF THE FIRST 1500 STRUCK). These are the first PF70UC’s of Chewbacca off the Press. Mintage = 10,000 – These are the “FIRST 1500 STUCK” as individually indicated. Only 1,500 of these Graded Coins in Existence “FIRST 1500 STRUCK”. DON’T HESITATE TO MAKE A REASONABLE OFFER! Only 1500 in existence and once the Collector gets his hand on it, it will become more rare, as they don’t tend to sell them. Or if they are listed, there prices are very high. Please try to understand you cannot compare a Proof to a Mint Strike as a Proof is made for Collectors and struck with Superior Technology whereby Mint Strikes are also known as Business Strikes and are struck with lower technology. Only 1,500 of these Graded Coins in Existence. The item “(Only 1500) Star Wars 2017 NIUE S$2 CHEWBACCA PF70 ULTRA CAMEO ONE OF FIRST 1500″ is in sale since Sunday, July 23, 2017. The film tells the story of Mowgli, a man-cub raised by a family of wolves, who finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Sheer Khan threatens him. Urged to abandon the only home he has ever known, Mowgli embarks on a journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern-mentor Bagheera and the free-spirited bear Baloo. Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who do not exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa, a python, and the smooth-talking King Louie. The Jungle Book is a 1967 American animated musical comedy film produced by Walt Disney Productions. Inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s book of the same name, it is the 19th Disney animated feature film. Directed by Wolfgang Reitherman, it was the last film to be produced by Walt Disney, who died during its production. The plot follows Mowgli, a feral child raised in the Indian jungle by wolves, as his friends Bagheera the panther and Baloo the bear try to convince him to leave the jungle before the evil tiger Sheer Khan arrives. The early versions of both the screenplay and the soundtrack followed Kipling’s work more closely, with a dramatic, dark, and sinister tone which Disney did not want in his family film, leading to writer Bill Peet and composer Terry Gilkyson being replaced. The casting employed famous actors and musicians Phil Harris, Sebastian Cabot, George Sanders and Louis Prima, as well as Disney regulars such as Sterling Holloway, J. Pat O’Malley and Verna Felton, and the director’s son, Bruce Reitherman, as Mowgli. The Jungle Book was released on October 18, 1967, to positive reception, with acclaim for its soundtrack, featuring five songs by the Sherman Brothers and one by Gilkyson, “The Bare Necessities”. Disney released a live-action remake in 1994 and an animated sequel, The Jungle Book 2, in 2003; another live-action adaptation was released in 2016. Mowgli, a young orphan boy, is found in a basket in the deep jungles of. By Bagheera, a black panther who promptly takes him to a mother wolf who has just had cubs. She raises him along with her own cubs and Mowgli soon becomes well acquainted with jungle life. Mowgli is shown ten years later, playing with his wolf siblings. One night, when the wolf tribe learns that Sheer Khan, a man-eating. Bagheera volunteers to escort him back. They leave that very night, but Mowgli is determined to stay in the jungle. He and Bagheera rest in a tree for the night, where Kaa, a hungry python, tries to devour Mowgli, but Bagheera intervenes. The next morning, Mowgli tries to join the elephant patrol led by Colonel Hathi and his wife Winifred. Bagheera finds Mowgli, but after a fight decides to leave Mowgli on his own. Mowgli soon meets up with the laid-back, fun-loving bear Baloo, who promises to raise Mowgli himself and never take him back to the Man-Village. Shortly afterwards, a group of monkeys kidnap Mowgli and take him to their leader, King Louie the orangutan. King Louie offers to help Mowgli stay in the jungle if he will tell Louie how to make fire like other humans. However, since he was not raised by humans, Mowgli does not know how to make fire. Bagheera and Baloo arrive to rescue Mowgli and in the ensuing chaos, King Louie’s palace is demolished to rubble. Bagheera speaks to Baloo that night and convinces him that the jungle will never be safe for Mowgli so long as Sheer Khan is there. In the morning, Baloo reluctantly explains to Mowgli that the Man-Village is best for the boy, but Mowgli accuses him of breaking his promise and runs away. As Baloo sets off in search of Mowgli, Bagheera rallies the help of Hathi and his patrol. However, Sheer Khan himself, who was eavesdropping on Bagheera and Hathi’s conversation, is now determined to hunt and kill Mowgli himself. Meanwhile, Mowgli has encountered Kaa once again, but thanks to the unwitting intervention of the suspicious Sheer Khan, Mowgli escapes. As a storm gathers, a depressed Mowgli encounters a group of friendly vultures who accept Mowgli as a fellow outcast. Sheer Khan appears shortly after, scaring off the vultures and confronting Mowgli. Baloo rushes to the rescue and tries to keep Sheer Khan away from Mowgli, but is injured. When lightning strikes a nearby tree and sets it ablaze, the vultures swoop in to distract Sheer Khan while Mowgli gathers flaming branches and ties them to Sheer Khan’s tail. Terrified of fire, the tiger panics and runs off. Bagheera and Baloo take Mowgli to the edge of the Man-Village, but Mowgli is still hesitant to go there. His mind soon changes when he is smitten by a beautiful young girl from the village who is coming down by the riverside to fetch water. After noticing Mowgli, she “accidentally” drops her water pot. Mowgli retrieves it for her and follows her into the Man-Village. After Mowgli chooses to stay in the Man-Village, Baloo and Bagheera decide to head home, content that Mowgli is safe and happy with his own kind. The Jungle Book received positive reviews upon release, undoubtedly influenced by a nostalgic reaction to the death of Disney. ” The New York Times called it “a perfectly dandy cartoon feature, ” and Life magazine referred to it as “the best thing of its kind since Dumbo, another short, bright, non-scary and blessedly uncultivated cartoon. ” Variety’s review was generally positive, but they stated that “the story development is restrained” and that younger audiences “may squirm at times. ” The song “The Bare Necessities” was nominated for Best Song at the 40th Academy Awards, losing to “Talk to the Animals from Doctor Dolittle. And Sciences president Gregory Peck lobbied extensively for this film to be nominated for Best Picture, but was unsuccessful. Retrospective reviews were also positive, with the film’s animation, characters and music receiving much praise throughout the years. In 1990, when the film had its last theatrical re-release, Entertainment Weekly considered that The Jungle Book “isn’t a classic Walt Disney film on the order of, say, Cinderella or Pinocchio, but it’s one of Disney’s liveliest and funniest”, while the Los Angeles Times thought the film’s crew was “near the height of their talents” and the resulting film remains a high-spirited romp that will delight children–and parents weary of action films with body counts that exceed their box-office grosses. ” In 2010, Empire” described the film as one that “gets pretty much everything right, regarding that the vibrant animation and catchy songs overcame the plot deficiencies. Mowgli and King Louie. King Louie is a fictional character who appears in two of Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book stories featuring Mowgli and their adaptations. King Louie is the king of the monkeys and is a festive friend to Mowgli. Often seen wearing his amazing crown, King Louie resides in an ancient palace abandoned by people and completely hidden by the jungle. His tribe of monkeys enjoys their jungle residence as there is plenty of food – bananas for them. The New Zealand Mint is pleased to present Mowgli and King Louie. This bright silver coin features a colorized image of Mowgli and King Louie playing on King Louie’s throne. With the engraved background. This coin would be the perfect addition to any Disney collection or would make any great gift for any cartoon fan. Bagheera is a fictional character in Rudyard Kipling’s Mowgli stories in the Jungle Book and the Second Jungle Book. Bagheera is a black panther who serves as friend, protector and mentor to the “man-cub” Mowgli. Bagheera, the black panther, befriends Mowgli because both. And Mowgli have parallel childhood experiences. As Bagheera often mentions, he was “raised in the King’s cages at Oodeypore” from a cub, and thus knows the ways of man. The New Zealand Mint is pleased to present Mowgli and Bagheera. This bright silver coin features a colorized image of Mowgli and Bagheera resting on a tree branch. Baloo is a main fictional character featured in Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book from 1894 and The Second Jungle Book from 1895. Baloo, a bear, is the strict teacher of the cubs of the Seeonee wolf pack. His most challenging pupil is the “man-cub” Mowgli. This bright silver coin features a colorized image of Mowgli and Baloo swimming in the river. Mowgli and Shere Khan. As the years progress, Shere Khan continues to regard Mowgli as fair game, but eventually Mowgli finds a weapon he can use against the tiger – fire. New Zealand Mint is proud to announce this coin issue celebrating the first space walk as part of the Conquest of Space series. Alexei Leonov was one of the twenty Soviet Air Force pilots selected to be part of the first cosmonaut group in 1960. He was outside the Voshod 2 spacecraft for 12 minutes and 9 seconds on 18 March 1965, connected to the craft by a 5.35 meter tether. Alexey Arkhipovich Leonov was born 30 May 1934 in Listvyanka, West Siberian Krai. And is a retired Soviet/Russian cosmonaut and Air Force Major general. On 18 March 1965, he became the first human to conduct extravehicular activity (EVA), exiting the capsule during the Voskhod 2 mission for a 12-minute spacewalk. Leonov was one of the 20 Soviet Air Force pilots selected to be part of the first cosmonaut group in 1960. Leonov was a member of the Communist Party of the. (the only cosmonaut that was not was Konstantin Feoktistov). His walk in space was originally to have taken place on the Voskhod 1 mission, but this was cancelled, and the historic event happened on the Voskhod 2 flight instead. He was outside the spacecraft for 12 minutes and nine seconds on 18 March 1965, connected to the craft by a 5.35-meter tether. At the end of the spacewalk, Leonov’s spacesuit had inflated in the vacuum of space to the point where he could not re-enter the airlock. He opened a valve to allow some of the suit’s pressure to bleed off and was barely able to get back inside the capsule. Leonov had spent eighteen months undergoing intensive weightlessness training for the mission. In 1968, Leonov was selected to be commander of a circumlunar Soyuz 7K-L1 flight. This was cancelled because of delays in achieving a reliable circumlunar flight (only the later Zond 7 and Zond 8 members of the program were successful) and the Apollo 8 mission had already achieved that step in the Space Race with the. Gaining that prestige first. He was also selected to be the first Soviet person to land on the Moon, aboard the LOK/N1 spacecraft. This project was also cancelled. The design required a spacewalk between lunar vehicles, something that contributed to his selection. Leonov was to have been commander of the 1971 Soyuz 11 mission to Salyut 1, the first manned space station, but his crew was replaced with the backup after one of the members, cosmonaut Valery Kubasov, was suspected to have contracted tuberculosis (the other member was Pyotr Kolodin). Leonov was to have commanded the next mission to Salyut 1, but this was scrapped after the deaths of the Soyuz 11 crew members, and the space station was lost. The next two Salyuts (actually the military Almaz station) were lost at launch or failed soon after, and Leonov’s crew stood by. By the time Salyut 4 reached orbit, Leonov had been switched to a more prestigious project. Leonov’s second trip into space was similarly significant: he commanded the Soviet half of the 1975 Apollo-Soyuz mission – Soyuz 19 – the first joint space mission between the Soviet Union and the. From 1976 to 1982, Leonov was the commander of the cosmonaut team (“Chief Cosmonaut”) and deputy director of the. Where he oversaw crew training. He also edited the cosmonaut newsletter. Alexei Leonov retired in 1992. Leonov is an accomplished artist whose published books include albums of his artistic works and works he did in collaboration with his friend Andrei Sokolov. Leonov took colored pencils and paper into space, where he sketched the Earth and drew portraits of the Apollo astronauts who flew with him during the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. Clarke wrote in his notes to 2010: Odyssey Two that, after a 1968 screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Leonov pointed out to him that the alignment of the Moon, Earth, and Sun shown in the opening is essentially the same as that in Leonov’s 1967 painting Near the Moon, although the painting’s diagonal framing of the scene was not replicated in the film. Clarke kept an autographed sketch of this painting – which Leonov made after the screening, hanging on his office wall. In 2001, he was a vice president of Moscow-based Alfa-Bank and an adviser to the first deputy of the Board. In 2004, Leonov and former American astronaut David Scott began work on a dual biography/history of the Space Race between the. Titled Two Sides of the Moon: Our Story of the Cold War Space Race, it was published in 2006. Neil Armstrong and Tom Hanks both wrote introductions to the book. Leonov was also a contributor to the 2007 book Into That Silent Sea by Colin Burgess and Francis French, which describes his life and career in space exploration. As of March 2016, Leonov is the last survivor of the five cosmonauts in the Voskhod program. His coin and packaging set is of extreme unbelievable rarity due to its limited low worldwide mintage of just 5,000 coins and the amazing colorized proof finish along with its super high popularity due to the subject matter being.
