2019 2 Oz Silver $5 Niue ZHAO YUN Ancient Chinese Warrior High Relief Coin

2019 2 Oz Silver $5 Niue ZHAO YUN Ancient Chinese Warrior High Relief Coin

2019 2 Oz Silver $5 Niue ZHAO YUN Ancient Chinese Warrior High Relief Coin

PRE ORDER FOR END OF APRIL 2019. This is the first coin of the series called Ancient Chinese. The first coin of the series is ZHAO YUN. Which is minted in outstanding high relief. A Chinese warrior of the third century, Zhao Yun is pretty well known in China, but less so elsewhere, although coin collectors are used to learning about some of these ancient gods, myths and historical figures from this hugely impressive numismatic genre. The warrior on horseback isnt a new idea, but its rarely been realised so well as it has here. The spear has lent the artwork a sense of perspective often missing from lesser examples. The obverse carries the obligatory mugshot of QEII, but set against a backdrop of Chinese dragons. Again, this looks great and the mint is to be commended for its work customising what is usually a drab face, as it has with previously in similar series. Weve not seen packaging yet, but it will come in a wooden box and the mintage is capped at 500 pieces. Zhao Yun (died 229), was a military general who lived during the late Eastern Han dynasty and early Three Kingdoms period of China. Originally a subordinate of the northern warlord Gongsun Zan, Zhao Yun later came to serve another warlord, Liu Bei, and had since accompanied him on most of his military exploits, from the Battle of Changban (208) to the Hanzhong Campaign (217219). He continued serving in the state of Shu Han founded by Liu Bei in 221 in the Three Kingdoms period and participated in the first of the Northern Expeditions until his death in 229. While many facts about Zhao Yuns life remain unclear due to limited information in historical sources, some aspects and activities in his life have been dramatised or exaggerated in folklore and fiction. In the 14th-century historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, he was lauded as a member of the Five Tiger Generals under Liu Bei. Zhao Yuns original biography in the Records of the Three Kingdoms (Sanguozhi), written by Chen Shou in the third century, is only 346 Chinese characters long. In the fifth century, Pei Songzhi added annotations from the Zhao Yun Biezhuan to Zhao Yuns biography in the Sanguozhi, providing a relatively clear, though still incomplete picture of Zhao Yuns life. 2018 2 Oz Silver Niue $2 PERUN Thunder Slavic Gods Coin

DESCRIPTION FIRST COIN ON THE SERIE OF THUNDER SLAVIC GODS. The 2 Oz Silver coin is the first release in the new Slavic Gods series and is dedicated to the Slavic God of thunder, lightning, heaven and earth Perun. The coin features an incredible oaken insert, has an Antique Finish quality and comes in a themed case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage to only 500 pieces worldwide! In Slavic mythology, Perun (Cyrillic:) is the highest god of the pantheon and the god of thunderand lightning. His other attributes were fire, mountains, wind, the oak, iris, eagle, firmament (in Indo-European languages, this was joined with the notion of the sky of stone), horses and carts, weapons hammer, axe (Axe of Perun), and arrow, and war. He was first associated with weapons made of stone and later with those of metal. Of all historic records describing Slavic gods, those mentioning Perun are the most numerous. As early as the 6th century, he was mentioned in De Bello Gothico, a historical source written by the Eastern Roman historian Procopius. A short note describing beliefs of a certain South Slavic tribe states they acknowledge that one god, creator of lightning, is the only lord of all: to him do they sacrifice an ox and all sacrificial animals. While the name of the god is not mentioned here explicitly, 20th century research has established beyond doubt that the god of thunder and lightning in Slavic mythology is Perun. To this day the word perun in a number of Slavic languages means “thunder, ” or “lightning bolt”. The Primary Chronicle relates that in the year 6415 (907 AD) prince Oleg Scandin. Olaf made a peace treaty with the Byzantine Empire and by taking his men to the shrines and swearing by their weapons and by their god Perun, and by Volos, the god of cattle, they confirmed the treaty. We find the same form of confirmation of a peace treaty by prince Igorin 945. In 980, when prince Vladimir the Great came to the throne of Kiev, he erected statues of five pagan gods in front of his palace which he soon thereafter discarded after his Christianization in 988. Perun was chief among these, represented with a silver head and a golden moustache. (p133-) Vladimir’s uncle Dobrinja also had a shrine of Perun established in his city of Novgorod. After the Christianization of Kievan Rus, this place became a monastery, which, quite remarkably, continued to bear the name of Perun. 999 Weight: 2 Oz – 62.2g Diameter: 50 mm Finish: Antique Finish, High Relief And Oak Insert Mintage: 500 Pcs Worldwide Certificate COA: Yes Box: Yes. PRE ORDER FOR END OF MAY 2019. Copernicusis alunarimpact craterlocated in eastern Oceanus Procellarum. It was named after the astronomerNicolaus Copernicus. It typifies craters that formed during theCopernican periodin that it has a prominentray system. Copernicus is visible usingbinoculars, and is located slightly northwest of the center of the Moon’s Earth-facing hemisphere. South of the crater is theMare Insularum, and to the south-south west is the craterReinhold. North of Copernicus are the Montes Carpatus, which lie at the south edge ofMare Imbrium. West of Copernicus is a group of dispersed lunar hills. Due to its relative youth, the crater has remained in a relatively pristine shape since it formed. The circular rim has a discernible hexagonal form, with aterracedinner wall and a 30km wide, slopingrampartthat descends nearly a kilometer to the surroundingmare. There are three distinct terraces visible, and arc-shapedlandslidesdue to slumping of the inner wall as the crater debris subsided. Most likely due to its recent formation, the crater floor has not been flooded bylava. The terrain along the bottom is hilly in the southern half while the north is relatively smooth. The central peaks consist of three isolated mountainous rises climbing as high as 1.2km above the floor. These peaks are separated from each other by valleys, and they form a rough line along an east-west axis. Infrared observations of these peaks during the 1980s determined that they were primarily composed of themaficform ofolivine. 999 Weight: 1 Oz – 31.1g Diameter: 38.61 mm Mintage: 666 Pcs Worldwide Finish: ANTIQUE FINISH AND HIGH RELIEF Certificate COA: Yes Box: Yes. Ares is the Greek god of war. He is one of the Twelve Olympians, and the son of Zeus and Hera. In Greek literature, he often represents the physical or violent and untamed aspect of war, in contrast to his sister the armoured Athena, whose functions as a goddess of intelligence include military strategy and generalship. The Greeks were ambivalent toward Ares: although he embodied the physical valour necessary for success in war, he was a dangerous force, overwhelming, insatiable in battle, destructive, and man-slaughtering. His sons Phobos (Fear) and Deimos (Terror) and his lover, or sister, Enyo (Discord) accompanied him on his war chariot. In the Iliad, his father Zeus tells him that he is the god most hateful to him. An association with Ares endows places and objects with a savage, dangerous, or militarized quality. His value as a war god is placed in doubt: during the Trojan War, Ares was on the losing side, while Athena, often depicted in Greek art as holding Nike (Victory) in her hand, favoured the triumphant Greeks. Ares plays a relatively limited role in Greek mythology as represented in literary narratives, though his numerous love affairs and abundant offspring are often alluded to. When Ares does appear in myths, he typically faces humiliation. He is well known as the lover of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, who was married to Hephaestus, god of craftsmanship. The most famous story related to Ares and Aphrodite shows them exposed to ridicule through the wronged husband’s clever device. The counterpart of Ares among the Roman gods is Mars, who as a father of the Roman people was given a more important and dignified place in ancient Roman religion as a guardian deity. During the Hellenization of Latin literature, the myths of Ares were reinterpreted by Roman writers under the name of Mars. Greek writers under Roman rule also recorded cult practices and beliefs pertaining to Mars under the name of Ares. Thus, in the classical tradition of later Western art and literature, the mythology of the two figures becomes virtually indistinguishable.
