This series is dedicated to the art, to the architecture and achievements of the greatest civilizations and empires. This 50 mm coin, numbered on the edge, with an Agate insert, that symbolizes equilibrium and peace, comes in an elegant case with Certificate of Authenticity. Extremely low mintage to 500 pcs worldwide! The reverse of the coin features two of the most well-known Chinese structures. In the foreground the Forbidden City and behind it, the Temple of Heaven. In the background, The Great Wall of China, a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials. At the centre of the coins reverse, an Agata insert. On the bottom of the coin, the inscription: China – the name of the coin. The coins obverse features a magnificent view of the extraordinary Chinese architecture with a bronze statue of Confucio, a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher of the Spring and Autumn period of Chinese history and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In the top of the coin, the inscription: 2 DOLLARS – the face value, while on the bottom of the coin, enclosed in beautiful decorations, the inscriptions: Elizabeth II – the name of the Queen, Niue – the issue country, 2016 – the issue date and Ag999 – the Silver fineness. The Agata insert is visible also in the coin’s obverse. Chinese Empire In early ancient China, many people worked at farming, but it was not an easy life. They had extravagant temples and even built the Great wall of China over 2000 years ago. There were certain distinct features which were solely reserved for buildings that were built for Chinese Emperors. These features were yellow roof tiles and dragons. Yellow colour has always been the imperial colour. However, Temple of Heaven is an exception. Its rooftop is of blue colour which symbolizes the sky. The second feature is that the Chinese dragons which symbolizes the Chinese nationality, was only used on imperial architecture.
