SAMURAI Warriors 2 Oz Silver Coin 5$ Niue 2019

SAMURAI Warriors 2 Oz Silver Coin 5$ Niue 2019

The coin has an incredible Relief, has a selective Gold Plating, has an Antique Finish quality and comes in a case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage to 500 pcs worldwide. The reverse of the coin depicts an incredible Samurai with his Katana swords over a beautiful background of a typical Japanese village. The obverse of the coin features the effigy og Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: ELIZABETH II the name of the Queen, NIUE the issuing country, 2019 the year of issue, 5 DOLLARS the face value. Samurai Samurai are legendary warriors and perhaps the most well-known class of people in ancient Japan. They were noble fighters that fought evil (and each other) with their swords and frightening armor, following a strict moral code that governed their entire life. While samurai is a strictly masculine term, the Japanese bushi class (the social class samurai came from) did feature women who received similar training in martial arts and strategy. These women were called Onna-Bugeisha and they were known to participate in combat along with their male counterparts. Their weapon of choice was usually the naginata, a spear with a curved, sword-like blade that was versatile, yet relatively light. Since historical texts offer relatively few accounts of these female warriors (the traditional role of a Japanese noblewoman was more of a homemaker), we used to assume they were just a tiny minority. However, recent research indicates that Japanese women participated in battles quite a lot more often than history books admit. When remains from the site of the Battle of Senbon Matsubaru in 1580 were DNA-tested, 35 out of 105 bodies were female. Research on other sites has yielded similar results. 2019 2 Oz Silver Niue $2 SAMURAI Warriors Antique Finish Ultra High Relief Coin

DESCRIPTION FIRST COIN ON THE SERIE OF WARRIORS. In Japanese, they are usually referred to as bushi , b. According to translator William Scott Wilson: In Chinese, the character was originally a verb meaning’to wait upon’,’accompany persons’ in the upper ranks of society, and this is also true of the original term in Japanese, saburau. In both countries the terms were nominalized to mean’those who serve in close attendance to the nobility’, the Japanese term saburaibeing the nominal form of the verb. According to Wilson, an early reference to the word samuraiappears in the Kokin Wakash (905914), the first imperial anthology of poems, completed in the first part of the 10th century. By the end of the 12th century, samurai became almost entirely synonymous with bushi, and the word was closely associated with the middle and upper echelons of the warrior class. The samurai were usually associated with a clan and their lord, and were trained as officers in military tactics and grand strategy. While the samurai numbered less than 10% of then Japan’s population, their teachings can still be found today in both everyday life and in modern Japanese martial arts. Following the Battle of Hakusukinoe against Tang China and Silla in 663 AD which led to a retreat from Korean affairs, Japan underwent widespread reform. One of the most important was that of the Taika Reform, issued by Prince Naka-no-e (Emperor Tenji) in 646 AD. This edict allowed the Japanese aristocracy to adopt the Tang dynasty political structure, bureaucracy, culture, religion, and philosophy. As part of the Taih Code of 702 AD, and the later Yr Code, the population was required to report regularly for the census, a precursor for national conscription. With an understanding of how the population was distributed, Emperor Monmu introduced a law whereby 1 in 34 adult males were drafted into the national military. This was one of the first attempts by the Imperial government to form an organized army modeled after the Chinese system. It was called “Gundan-Sei” (ja:) by later historians and is believed to have been short-lived. [citation needed] The Taih Code classified most of the Imperial bureaucrats into 12 ranks, each divided into two sub-ranks, 1st rank being the highest adviser to the Emperor. Those of 6th rank and below were referred to as “samurai” and dealt with day-to-day affairs. Although these “samurai” were civilian public servants, the modern word is believedby whom? To have derived from this term. Military men, however, would not be referred to as “samurai” for many more centuries. 999 Weight: 2 Oz – 62.2g Diameter: 50 mm Mintage: 500 Pcs Worldwide Finish: 24K GOLD GILDED, ULTRA HIGH RELIEF, ANTIQUE FINISH. BJORN IRONSIDE Vikings Gods Kings Warriors 2 Oz Silver Coin 2$ Niue 2016

62.2 (2 oz). Sixth issue from 15 coin series Vikings: Gods, Kings and Warriors featuring the son of legendary Viking warrior and King, Ragnar of Lothbrok Bjorn Ironside. The 2 Oz coin is minted with an exceptional High Relief technique. The coin will have a laser-etched serial number on the rim along with matching serial number found on the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage to 1.999 pcs. Bjorn’s depiction on the reverse of the coin is based upon the historical account of his sacking of the town of Luna, Italy, which legend says he believed to be Rome at the time. Unable to breach the town walls by force, Bjorn sent messengers to the resident Bishop of Luna who announced (lied about) Bjorn’s death and last request for a deathbed conversion, and the desire to be buried on consecrated ground within the church. The Bishop, agreeing to Bjorn’s request, permitted Bjorn’s dead body entry into the chapel with a small honor guard. To the amazement of the Italian clerics and others in attendance, Bjorn surprised the crowd by bursting from his “coffin” and fighting his way to the town gates to win their eventual freedom, allowing his army entrance to Luna and its riches. On the bottom of the coin, the inscription: Bjorn Ironside the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination: Two Dollars, the issue year: 2016, the issue country: Niue and 2 Oz 999 Fine Silver – the weight and the fineness of Silver. Bjorn Ironside Bjorn Ironside was a legendary king of Sweden who lived sometime in the 9th century. Bjorn Ironside is said to have been the first ruler of the Munso dynasty. In the early 18th century, a barrow on the island of Munso was claimed by antiquarians to be Bjorn Jarnsidas hg or Bjorn Ironside’s grave. Hog, from the Old Norse word haugr, means barrow or mound. A powerful Viking chieftain and naval commander, Bjorn and his brother Hastein conducted many (mostly successful) raids in France in a continuation of the tradition initiated by their (legendary) father Ragnar Lothbrok. In 860, Björn led a large Viking raid into the Mediterranean. After raiding down the Iberian coast and fighting their way through Gibraltar, Bjorn and Hastein pillaged the south of France, where his fleet over-wintered, before landing in Italy where they captured the coastal city of Pisa. They proceeded inland to the town of Luni, which they believed to be Rome at the time, but were unable to breach the town walls. To gain entry a tricky plan was devised: Hastein sent messengers to the bishop to say that, being deathly ill, he had a deathbed conversion and wished to receive Christian sacraments and/or to be buried on consecrated ground within their church. He was brought into the chapel with a small honor guard, then surprised the dismayed clerics by leaping from his stretcher. The Viking party then hacked its way to the town gates, which were promptly opened letting the rest of the army in. In the desperate battle that followed, Bjorn lost 40 ships, largely to a form of Greek fire launched from Saracen catapults. The remainder of his fleet managed to return to Scandinavia, however, where he lived out his life as a rich man.
