MOON CRATER COPERNICUS 2019 1 OZ PURE SILVER COIN WITH NWA 8609 METEORITE NIUE. MOON CRATER COPERNICUS 2019 1 oz Pure Silver Coin with NWA 8609 Meteorite Niue. Beautiful 1 oz Silver coin with a real meteorite, first issue of the series Moon Crater. The coin depicts the moon on both sides and the metorite is a real piece of the NWA 8609 found in Northwest Africa. The coin is housed in a prestigious wooden box with Certificate of Authenticity. Extremely low mintage of 686 pieces worldwide. Moon and the meteorite NWA 8609 The Moon (Latin: Luna) is Earths only natural satellite. Although not the largest natural satellite in the Solar System, among the satellites of major planets it is the largest relative to the size of the object it orbits (its primary). It is the second-densest satellite among those whose densities are known (after Jupiters satellite Io). The Moon is thought to have formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago, not long after Earth. Although there have been several hypotheses for its origin in the past, the current most widely accepted explanation is that the Moon formed from the debris left over after a giant impact between Earth and a Mars-sized body. The Moon is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face with its near side marked by dark volcanic maria that fill between the bright ancient crustal highlands and the prominent impact craters. It is the second-brightest regularly visible celestial object in Earths sky (after the Sun), as measured by illuminance on Earths surface. Although it can appear a very bright white, its surface is actually dark, with a reflectance just slightly higher than that of worn asphalt. Its prominence in the sky and its regular cycle of phases have, since ancient times, made the Moon an important cultural influence on language, calendars, art, and mythology. The Moons gravitational influence produces the ocean tides and the slight lengthening of the day. The Moons current orbital distance is about thirty times the diameter of Earth, causing it to have an apparent size in the sky almost the same as that of the Sun. This allows the Moon to cover the Sun nearly precisely in total solar eclipse. This matching of apparent visual size is a coincidence. The Moons linear distance from Earth is currently increasing at a rate of 3.82 ± 0.07 centimetres (1.504 ± 0.028 in) per year, but this rate is not constant. Physical characteristics: Single stone, dark brown, irregular weathered surface. Saw cut reveals a range of light and dark mm-size clasts and mineral fragments set in a dark-gray matrix. Agee, UNM Microprobe examination of a polished mount shows a fragmental breccia of plagioclase, olivine, and pyroxene grains, also feldspathic clasts, melt clasts, and microgabbro clasts. Accessory Fe-Ni metal, ilmenite, and apatite. (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF GOLD COINS). ONCE YOUR DONE SHOPPING, PLEASE MESSAGE ME AND I WILL SEND YOU A COMBINED INVOICE. In Greco-Roman mythology, Sun and Moon are represented as male and female, respectively (Helios/Sol and Selene/Luna). The Sun is a creative force, it enables life. It is thought to be one of the strongest forces in history and represents many things, such as courage or life. The moon is considered female, and signifies mystery or magic. The Moon also represents renovation, resurrection due to the lunar phases, in which the Moon evolves. Joining the two together creates a design of complementary opposites. Sun and Moon allegory owes to no specific age or culture. An item displaying this iconography witnesses for a very ancient dating and uncertain place of origin. It matters very little that the indoeuropean origins of name sun was feminine, as is still in Lithuanian and German languages, and vice versa moon masculine, as evidenced by Lunus in Rome. An iconographic tradition of representing Sun and Moon with faces developed in the late medieval peri. Coins for investors and collectors. PRE ORDER FOR END OF MAY 2019. Copernicusis alunarimpact craterlocated in eastern Oceanus Procellarum. It was named after the astronomerNicolaus Copernicus. It typifies craters that formed during theCopernican periodin that it has a prominentray system. Copernicus is visible usingbinoculars, and is located slightly northwest of the center of the Moon’s Earth-facing hemisphere. South of the crater is theMare Insularum, and to the south-south west is the craterReinhold. North of Copernicus are the Montes Carpatus, which lie at the south edge ofMare Imbrium. West of Copernicus is a group of dispersed lunar hills. Due to its relative youth, the crater has remained in a relatively pristine shape since it formed. The circular rim has a discernible hexagonal form, with aterracedinner wall and a 30km wide, slopingrampartthat descends nearly a kilometer to the surroundingmare. There are three distinct terraces visible, and arc-shapedlandslidesdue to slumping of the inner wall as the crater debris subsided. Most likely due to its recent formation, the crater floor has not been flooded bylava. The terrain along the bottom is hilly in the southern half while the north is relatively smooth. The central peaks consist of three isolated mountainous rises climbing as high as 1.2km above the floor. These peaks are separated from each other by valleys, and they form a rough line along an east-west axis. Infrared observations of these peaks during the 1980s determined that they were primarily composed of themaficform ofolivine. 999 Weight: 1 Oz – 31.1g Diameter: 38.61 mm Mintage: 666 Pcs Worldwide Finish: ANTIQUE FINISH AND HIGH RELIEF Certificate COA: Yes Box: Yes.
