The counterpart of Ares among the Roman gods is Mars, who as a father of the Roman people was given a more important and dignified place in ancient Roman religion as a guardian deity. During the Hellenization of Latin literature, the myths of Ares were reinterpreted by Roman writers under the name of Mars. Greek writers under Roman rule also recorded cult practices and beliefs pertaining to Mars under the name of Ares. Thus, in the classical tradition of later Western art and literature, the mythology of the two figures becomes virtually indistinguishable. 93.3 (3 oz). This amazing Silver coin is the first issue in the new series History of Theatre and features the Great Theatre of Epidaurus, in ancient Greece. Limited mintage to 500 pcs worldwide! The reverse of the coin presents the Great Greek Theatre Epidaurus. The coin is impressive thanks to the incredible details, ultra-high relief and his concave shape. On the bottom of the reverse, the inscription: Epidaurus Greek Theater the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: 7 Dollars – the face value, Niue the issue country and 2016 the issue year. Theatre of Epidaurus The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus is situated within the archaeological site of the Sanctuary of Asklepios, in the Argolis prefecture of the Peloponnese.
