The first issue in an annual series, this coin is struck from 99.9% pure silver for a total of 1 troy ounce of actual silver weight (ASW) Each coin is legal tender in the island nation of Niue with a face value of 1 Dollar. On the reverse, a young boy is shown being protected by a guardian angel. The angel watches over him from behind as her wings cover the boy in a protective manner. The image is flanked on each side by doves in mid-flight, and is set against beautiful proof-like background. The legend “GUARDIAN ANGEL” runs along the top rim. At the bottom rim, the weight and purity are inscribed, reading “ONE DOLLAR” and the year-date “2017″ The edge is reeded.
