Just 2,021 were struck by the Mayer Mint in Germany using their Smartminting technology to create such a superb specimen. Some of the devices on the coin actually rise up off the flat surface and create the Ultra High Relief effect. Some examples of this include the sharks’ Back fin, surf boarder lying on board unaware she’s about to be lunch for this Great White, and the very tip at the 12:00 position of the Obverse side where the shark appears to have crashed into the word “White”. Talk about detail to design! This is just my humble opinion, but this design is one of the more creative and impressive I’ve seen on a coin in 2021. A few others I would include are the Type 2 American Silver Eagle bullion Strike and 2021 Canada Super Incuse Maple Leaf. The aqua coloring for the South Pacific waters look very inviting!
